The Method Behind the Madness: Our Process
Share
Every great game starts with a spark of imagination. In our world this spark usually comes from Sophia. More on that in the About Us. But if you’ve ever wondered how our quirky, colourful, wonderfully chaotic games go from her drawing to a fully playable creation, this is your behind‑the‑scenes tour.
🎨 Sophia’s Sketch
Before anything really happens here, Sophia grabs some paper and starts drawing. No rules, no restrictions, just pure creativity, She may have seen something similar and wants to put her own touch on it. Take our Ring Toss game, for example. It began as a simple hand‑drawn design: a playful layout, a few pegs, and a vision. These sketches are rough, lively, and full of personality exactly what Sophia wants!
🧩 Accessory Brainstorm
Now comes the fun scavenger‑hunt part. We look at the drawing and ask: What do we need for Ring Toss, we kept it simple and crafty:
Cardboard frame , toothpicks for the pegs and in this case Loom band bracelets for the rings
It’s amazing how everyday items can become game pieces with just a little imagination. This makes sure we know what we require for the game and we aren't over complicating it.
💻 Turning Art Into Digital Magic
Once the drawing feels right and we know the game is enjoyable, we recreate the design digitally. This is where lines get cleaner, colours get brighter, and the concept becomes something we can actually build. The digital version lets us experiment with layout, spacing, and proportions until everything looks just right.
📏 Sizing It Up
Next, we scale the design to match our game frames. This step is surprisingly important too big and it won’t fit, too small and it loses impact. We tweak, adjust, and resize until the final layout sits perfectly within the frame dimensions.
🛍️ Sourcing the Perfect Bits and Pieces
Once we know what we need, we go hunting online, in the dreaded DIY shops and in drawers we probably should’ve organised months ago. We gather the best materials to make sure the final game is sturdy, built to last, colourful, and fun to play.
🖨️ Printing the Design
With everything ready, we send the digital design to the printer. This is the moment where the idea becomes real. We wait (impatiently) for the print to finish, and every time it feels like opening a present. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to make sure the design is crisp.
🖼️ Framing the Game
The printed design gets carefully attached to our game frame. This is when it starts looking like something you’d actually want to play not just admire on a screen. We attach it with bolts to
🎯 Adding Accessories
We attach all the pieces: the pegs, the rings, the props, the little details that make the game interactive. Suddenly, the flat design becomes a 3D experience.
🎉 Play‑Testing (Ahem… Testing)
Finally, we do the most important part we play it. We mean… we test it. We toss the rings, we check the spacing, we make sure everything works the way it should. And yes, we usually end up laughing our way through this stage.
And That’s How the Madness Becomes Magic
From Sophia’s first drawing to the final test run, every game goes through this joyful, slightly chaotic, wonderfully creative process. It’s hands‑on, it’s imaginative, and it’s exactly why our games feel so full of life.
